Measuring Affinity Constants

Measuring Affinity Constants of 1450 Monoclonal Antibodies to Peptide Targets. Our Protein A and G conjugated MagVigen™ magnetic nanoparticles were applied to purify and enrich over 1000 monoclonal antibodies enabling high throughput microfluidic measurements of antibody affinity constants. The results were published by J.P. Landry, et. al.in Journal of Immunological Methods.

We greatly appreciate the trust from Epitomics/Abcam and Prof. Zhu of University of California at Davis on the quality of NVIGEN products and service. These antibodies with characterized Kd values are available for purchasing from Epitomics/abcam.

We are pleased to see that our MagVigen™ magnetic nanoparticles have enabled high yield purification of thousands of antibodies with enrichment factors as high as a few hundred fold.  Because of the larger binding capacity and superior surface chemistry of our magnetic nanoparticles, it provides a cost effective and reliable approach for high throughput and multiplexed profiling of high quality purified antibodies.

Tips for Working with Magnetic Beads

Purification is a common procedure in most molecular biology experiments, such as the removal of short primers, unincorporated dNTPs, enzymes, and salts from PCR reactions and other impurities.  There are various types of purification methods, including filtration, centrifugation and separation.  Separation has become a very popular method in life sciences and various types of solid phase support are used.  This includes agarose beads, sepharose beads, silica beads, and magnetic beads.  Separation using magnetic beads is the quickest, cleanest and most efficient technique out of all the bead separation methods.
